Noah T., Philippines, 2006-2007. In this photo, taken in March 2007, I'm posing with some children at one of my fieldsites in Palawan. The sandy path we're standing on is the closest thing this particular village has to a road. The palm trees in the background are a major source of livelihood for residents who dry the meat of the mature coconuts into a product called copra, which is eventually used for the industrial production of cooking oil and other products.
